My weekend!

Man my Hubby is Hot!

So it is saturday night and I have a moment to post our comings and goings for yesterday and today! So last night Jubilee and I went to Dinner at Marie Callenders and then went to the movie and watched 17 again. I had so much fun I laughed soooo hard. The movie was GREAT I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Jubilee for having such a great time with me!
Today I woke up and wondered where Steven was then I heard him in the driveway ,went to the window and he was loading all the bike's and 4-wheelers. So we went riding today and had a blast.  The kids rode so hard they are all crashed out. Slade disappeared in the car and when I went to see what he was doing I found this.

He was so tired he needed a little power nap. 30 min latter he was up riding again. We will see what tomorrow brings!

My little Migraine makers!

So today I sit here looking forward to friday night! Me and a good friend of mine Jubilee are going for a girls night out! We are doing dinner and a movie :).  You know I love being a mother BUT and that is a big BUT their are moments when I seriously need to lock myself in my room and take a moment away form my precious little migraine makers! Oh how I love them though. So anyone who is mother especially those with more than 2-3 kids can sympathize with why I need a girls night out just to sit back and laugh really hard! So to all you ladies who need a night away from your little migraine makers take a moment to lock yourself in your room open your dresser drawer and pull out that chocolate your hiding from your kids ( you know you have some cause we all do) lay back on your bed and relax for 15 minutes. I promise you will feel better .
Then take a night out as soon as possible! That is orders from Dr. Trista :)

New fun things!

So my mother and I went to Tai pan the other day and this is what I purchased. I LOVE anything that looks antique so when I saw the white plate I loved it BUT when I saw the blue plate I fell head over heals for it and had to have them. Then I wandered around till I found a stand I liked with it. Funny how the things that make us happy change so drastically over the years!

Good times and Good friends

Let me start by saying what a fun sunday I had! All of my family minus Alisha and wade were at my home. We had a BBQ on sunday and then played cranium compliments of Adam and Janice (Thanks)! We had so much fun! We all laughed so hard and had such a good time. We had wanted to have it outside but as most know It rained all day. So we were cramped in the house and had the best time. I think such great memories are made of fun family get together's.  The kind you sit and talk about with each other for years! I truly cant wait for our family camp trip!
Now let me explain the photo's above! We have some awesome friends who as you can tell He is a Salt Lake City Police Officer. Well they stopped by the other day with his bike and some SLC Police Badge tattoo's (which my boys LOVED). Well my boys were over the moon and got to get their photo's taken on his bike. Well since then everyone from family to the cashier at walmart have heard about our friend Cody the cop and sitting on his bike! Life is so nice when you have Good Family and Great Friends!

I looked on child-rearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully as interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best that I could bring it.

Finally!

So today I have finally found a moment to update you all on my going's and coming's. Well I have went on both Rachel and Hunter's field trips in the last week. They were both so much fun to go and be with each of them. It is neat to see how your kids interact with their classes. With Hunter I went to the children's museum at the gateway and with rachel I went to Antelope Island.
This weekend I have my parents coming to visit till monday. On sunday my family is coming for a BBQ at my house. What I am looking forward to most is Steven gave me a gift card to tai pan for mothers day so I am going there on friday! On monday we are going to take our kids to knoles to ride motorcycles and 4-wheelesrs. Can't wait! So it will be a really busy weekend. I have been cleaning my house and will be till. I was able to get some fun photo's at Antelope Island. I love to take photo's so I will post a few from both field trip's. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will update with photo's Tuesday if not sooner!

Life!

Life is it to be enjoyed , Is it to be endured?                                                                                     Should we throw ourselves into it and give everything we have or should we hold back and wait to see what it brings?                                                                                                              Shouldn't we savor each moment like it is life sustaining water and  Drink from it. Replenish ourselves in it each new day.                                                                                             Should we look at each smile we are so graciously given as a precious gift sent to us by are creator.
What about the storms should we fear them or embrace and learn how to quiet them?
Shall we hide from the night the sounds, and the shadows that encompass it or look for the stars to guide our way.
Love, Eternal love if only it finds us how blessed we would be.
Life is it to be enjoyed , Is it to be endured?
I say embrace it all!
Embrace the moment. Embrace the smile's. Embrace the storms. Embrace the night. Embrace love But most of all embrace life for it is the most wonderful gift to be given. The chance to Learn, Love and Live.                                                                                                                                     All of these moments come together to make us who we are and give us life.

Today I am just going to post some random photo's and my ever so interesting thoughts on each!
This is our new tent. I had to buy a bigger one this one is a 12 person it is 12x14. It is HUGE I love it. Our last one we would put 2 full size air mattresses and one single and it would be wall to wall beds. We could not even walk in it without stepping on a bed.
Well this one steven set it up sat night and we put 1 full size and 1 single air mattresses in it and I will tell you there was still room for 4 more full size ones! Oh happy am I.

This is Ty licking the beater  after I made Dirt Dessert (Yummy).
Now I am a Mother
who believes in "If  you are going to lick a beater you at least want something on their to lick". So I always give them a good healthy dunk before handing them to the kids.

Do you remember as kids the feeling of flying when you were on a swing? I just knew I was swinging as high as the top of the house. Oh to feel like I was flying again.

Oh to look at life again like a child. No worries, Carefree, and to feel the wind on your face as you pedaled your bike as fast as you could up the street!

These are just some of the reasons I love to be around my kids. Nothing brings back better memories than being around my kids.

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all!
I was sitting outside today watching my kids play as steven was BBQ'ing thinking. I was trying to imagine everything my mom gave up to do, buy, or make for her children. You know you will never, ever appreciate all that your mother did or sacrificed  for you until you are a mother yourself. Especially the more children I have had. How unselfish you have to be when you are a mother BUT it doesn't matter. Anything I have I would gladly give my children without thought.
It was not only my mother but others who have been there Like Aunt's, Grandmother's, and those Friends who are mother's. When you are a mother it is like a club anyone who is a mother beams with pride as you share stories of your children. Not all women are mothers but a very elite few have the heart of a mother. These are the women who are there to hear every story and detail of you and your children's day's,who listen, laugh and sympathize with you.  Thank you to all these women Grandmother's, Mother's, Aunt's, Sister's, and Friends and  Thank you  to my Father in Heaven for letting me a part of this wonderful group!

So yes I am still Excited to have people call and tell me Happy B-day and yes there is one of you out there who hasn't called yet and you know who you are. So lets just say it You have called every year for so long you cant stop now (LOL) but you know I still love you. I love my birthday I always have. I never get upset about getting older cause well It just doesn't bother me. Anyway I found some gorgeous Gerber Daisies at walmart to day so I bought one to plant in my yard. I have been doing flower pots for all over my yard. When I get them all done I will post photo's.

Lilacs and Boys

I love Lilacs They are my favorite flower. I am however picky about my lilacs. I use to enjoy all lilacs till we bought this home and to my happy surprise that spring the biggest lilacs I have ever seen grew up next to my home. Now I kid you not, one flower on these is as big as a dime to a penny. What an odd thing to be picky about but I just love these flowers. I am going to get my dad to take a few starts and see if he can get them to grow at his home. As I walked into the house last night I could smell their wonderful fragrance and just could not resist cutting some this morning and putting them on my kitchen table.                                                                              So last night I decided something their are three stages in a girls life as far as boys are concerned.
The first stage begins in kindergarten you start chasing boys! Now in elementary you chase boys to see if you can catch them or as you get into 4th and 5th grade's to give them back the cooties they just gave you!
The second begins in High school this is the stage you chase boys because you want to date them. You want so badly to catch the cute one and date him and maybe just maybe get a kiss or two from him! Now this stage continues until you are married and you have finally caught that perfect boy and you can kiss him all you want!
The Third stage starts when you have a baby boy of your own. It seems like this stage might just be the most work! First you chase them away from things that will hurt them such as Electrical plugs, stairs, roads the cleaning cupboard so on and so forth. Next it moves into chasing them out of things like your makeup, the dinner you just made, Muffins for Enrichment night, and your scrapbooking markers. Now at this point you win some and you lose some I lost last night and didn't make it in time. As I sit here typing this though I think you never stop chasing boys. I just think of my mother and all the chasing she does after my boys.
So I think the moral of this story is I will continue to chase boys. Now I just chase little one's trying to get a kiss!

You Know I chose the name of my blog with a reason. I felt the name had meaning "The Blackburn's Wild Life". It has a few meanings actually one of which is we really do have a wild life. The things that happen to us sometimes are crazy "see previous blog of example"lol. We are constantly going and doing "thats just us". Now don't get me wrong I LOVE a good weekend at home with nothing to do but lay around and be lazy but we just enjoy to much stuff to sit around.
Everyone says if I won the lottery I would buy this or that not me! I would spend every penny until the day I died or the money ran out doing thing with my family. We would go places and see things.  Their is nothing I like more than an outing with my family. Sandstorms wont stop us. Others would have packed up and went home " NOT us we kept on riding". We had a blast just riding around with our kids. There was a moment when I was on my 4-wheeler and I turned and looked back and right behind me was 3 dirt bikes and a four wheeler following right along. It made me smile! Now as for the second reason I named my blog The Blackburn's wild life is well anyone who has been around my boy's just know's well let's just say it THEY ARE WILD! You know something though I wouldn't change a thing!
Farewell for today from my wild home!

Monday, May 4, 2009

Oh what a weekend we had! I am not sure how to begin my tale but I guess the beginning is the best place to start any story. Prepare yourself this tale includes danger, adventure, fun and Romance!
So this adventure began on friday Steven took it off and we packed up the trailer with all the motorcycles and 4-wheelers and took off for cainville. Well friday night we got down to jerry and esther's . Troy and holly and mom and dad met us there also. Saturday morning dawned early after a night of talking and laughing late. As I woke I woke to the pelting rain on the roof ! Now cainville is made up of packed clay so when it gets wet it is a slick mess! Well after breakfast and alot of anxiety we called down there and was told it had not rained and was just a little cloudy. So with smiles on our faces and happy children we set out for cainville.  We arrived to slighty overcast skys and only a slight breeze( Perfect riding weather Not to hot). We unload the bikes and 4-wheelers and spent the next half hour putting helmets, boots , gloves and chest protecters on the kids. They are off and riding! Finally we adults get to start riding. Now fast forward 2 hours.
The lord was looking after us that day. For some reason everyone who was riding way out of the camp came back in for one reason or another . There was only 3 riders still out when it hit! Yes I mean HIT! Let me start by saying what happened next I would have never in a million years thought could happen . This kind of stuff only happens on t.v. shows.  As I was standing taking a photo of rachel I was looking at the back of my camera focusing on rachel when I saw IT. The largest wall of sand I have ever seen was heading straight at us! Now that was exactly what it looks like is the tallest and widest wall of sand you have ever seen.
As I scream to everyone there we all start grabbing children as fast as we can . It is at that point I realize slade is on his motorcycle 80 to 100 yards away from where we were. I start running I think faster than I have ever ran to get to him. Just as I reach him It hit. This is the part that I think I will never be able to convey in words. It was like a sandblaster hitting me at 80 mph. I grabbed slade and wrapped my arms around him as the wind was taking him away. I tucked my head and curled around him to protect him from this terrible mixture of wind , sand and slight bit of rain. Now at this point I thought this would just be a micro burst and would end soon! So I culred there with slade for approximately 4-5 min. After this long I begin to reilize this is not going to ending soon. I look up to try and push slade and his motorbike back to camp and sand blasted into my eyes to the point I cant even open them. I began walking or pushing into the wind and sand with slade the whole  wile he is grabbing my shirt for dear life. I am praying we are going in the right direction. After about 5 min of walking everyone was worried about where me and slade were but
no one dared to leave for fear they would not be able to find there way back. Well at this point slade and I were in within a few feet of everyone when they finally saw us and troy ran over to help. I set slade down and the winds grabbed him and started taking him with it. So I grabbed
him and made my way to the car where all the other kids had been put. This sandstorm went on for 25 min. which felt like an hour. After I made my way to the car I looked in the mirror and was horrified to see what I looked like! I had 1/2 inch of sand in my hair and  my face was a nice grey shade. My ears had so much sand so deep in them I was still cleaning it out the next day. My eyes though were the scariest they looked as if you held them open and poured sand in them the whites were grey from dirt. Well we all sat in the cars for the remainder of this and when it finally let up we got out and started to gather what we could find. Steven and troy found our gear bag about a mile away. Everything was plastered in half to an inch of dirt. We started cleaning up and within an hour it was gorgeous in fact the photo above was taken after all of this. The kids were not even fazed they wanted to just keep riding . Slade however got a little nervous if the wind blew a little hard and would ride over right next to me for a few minutes. So we rode for a few more hours and got burnned YES I got burrned agin but just on my face I think it will be ok in a day or so.
So now you may be thinking well there was adventure, danger, and fun but where is the romance I mentioned in the first. Right well that one is easy. Steven was there and he is soooo hot in his riding gear how could this NOT all end in romance!
